Tiamat Raid

ApeX Tiamat Raid Information

How the raid is set up:

For Tiamat the ultimate goal is to kill all five heads of Tiamat in one 2 minute kill run.

First as a group you want to break up into five 5 man teams to kill the first round of summoners. Once the 5 summoners are defeated it is very important that the members of the team picks up the color specific glyph that the specified summoner dropped.

Second each team will then spread themselves out between 3 clerics to defend them. Waves of mobs will continuously spawn and try to attack the clerics. It is the team’s job to keep the mobs away from the clerics and kill them as fast as possible. As the mobs are defeated and the clerics are untouched the clerics will build up a completion bar. Once the three completions bars are full (one for each cleric) then the time has come to attack Tiamat head on.

Lastly Tiamat has a barrage of attacks that are specific for each of the 5 dragon heads, these attacks will be better explained below, so making use of the glyphs becomes very important here. Each team wants to drop their specific color glyph on the same color dragon the team is fighting. We attack Tiamat with a one sweep method starting with the black dragon head and working are way from left to right. This keeps all the buffs and DPS stacked together making quick work of each dragon head.

Dragon Head’s Powers and Capabilities: (from left to right)

  1. Black Dragon Head: Black Dragon head is one of the more easy heads in the Tiamat Raid and as such is a good one to start the assault with. Black head has a very limited set of attacks that are mainly centered on its acid spots. Black head like all the heads of Tiamat has a bite attack that does massive damage and is usually centered on the main tank. So, for this head stay out of the acid spots marked by red circles.

  2. Green Dragon Head: Green Dragon head is a bit more complicated in that it has a constant poison effect that does damage over time to anyone in it. This is where the glyphs really come in! So with that constant poison doing damage to everyone it is great to have the green glyphs put down. By standing in the green glyphs you negate the damage over time effect. Then all you have to do is avoid the poison spots that the head shoots on the ground and that bite attack and your good to go!

  3. Red Dragon Head: This head is actually a bit more simple to that of green as there is no constant damage being dealt but the actual breath attack does more damage than black or greens little spots they lay down. So, with red head your main task to get the glyphs down as soon as possible and stand in them to block the major damage from the heads fire breath. This dragon like the others also has a bite attack.

  4. Blue Dragon Head: This is one if not the strongest heads in the Tiamat fight and is prone to wiping your team. So for this head it is extremely important to get your glyphs down as soon as possible. Like the red head this head has a very powerful breath attack but instead of fire it just chains lightning to all the players not standing in glyphs. So getting glyphs down on this dragon head is very important. Like all the other dragons this head also has a bite attack.

  5. White Dragon Head: Lastly the White Dragon head. This dragon head is very powerful, but not in a damaging attack, more so in its stun power. White head has a large breath attack that lays down a massive red circle and everything caught in this circle takes a very long lasting stun. That is why it is very important for your team members with the white glyphs to get them down as fast as possible to negate the stun effect on the players. The more team members that get stunned could mean not killing the 5 heads in a single run and having to defend the clerics again. This is why it is very important that your team members take the white dragon glyph and get it placed quickly. This dragon like the others has a bite attack. Also, just a heads up warning watch how fast you are running towards this dragon head because the ground tends to be icy and you could go flying off the platform.
