Dragonflight Raid

ApeX 4 Dragon Dragonflight Raid Information

How the Raid is set up:

The Ultimate goal of Dragonflight is to defeat all 4 dragons as fast as possible within a minute of each other. Dragonflights are conducted with a two-team method. One team groups up on Red Dragon, and the other team groups up on Green Dragon. The team on Red Dragon mainly consists of Melee classes and the team on Green Dragon is mainly consisted of Ranged classes and the tank classes. The two teams need to damage the Red and Green dragons down to 10% Health Points and then rotate to the next dragons. After taking Red and Green dragons down to 10% Red team will move to the Blue Dragon and Green team will move to the Black Dragon and an organized group will stay behind to form a “kill team” to kill the dragon once it is under 10%. Blue and Black Dragons must be stopped at 10% Health Points due to Damage inconsistencies or until the kill order is given in alliance chat. Please read alliance chat before and during Dragonflight for additional raid set up information and directions.

The locations of the dragons in the stronghold map are as follows:

  • Red Dragon is located in the upper left-hand corner of the stronghold map in the “Last Hope Graveyard.”

  • Blue Dragon is located in the upper right-hand corner of the stronghold map in the “Dragon Hills.”

  • Green Dragon is located in the lower right-hand corner of the stronghold map in the “Ancient Lake.”

  • Black Dragon is located in the lower left-hand corner of the stronghold map in the “Devil’s Hideaway.”

Dragon’s powers and capabilities:

Each Dragon has its own unique powers and attacks. These attacks differ from each individual Dragon so knowing each Dragons specific attacks and capabilities is very important.

  • Red Dragon: Red Dragon is a very simple dragon and is a typical Red Dragon in that it uses fire damage for its primary attacks. Red Dragon uses a combination of Fire Rain and Fire Breath to deal mass damage to specific areas that become marked in Red. Your best bet for staying alive is to just stay out of the general direction of the front of the dragon and to avoid the fire rain circles.

  • Green Dragon: Green Dragon is a little more complex then Red Dragon in that is has a constant poison damage in the area surrounding the Dragon. The Dragon also does a heavy wing slap that leaves a thicker poison under its feet which is much more potent than that of the surrounding poison. The dragon can also shoot poison from its mouth leaving poison spots on the ground marked out in red Circles.

  • Blue Dragon: Blue Dragon is one of if not the hardest Dragon in the Dragonflight raid and uses lightning strikes to deal mass damage. Blue Dragon has a primary attack known as the “primary strike” that deals massive damage to a single target, but if this target dies from this massive attack it will kill all players in the immediate area surrounding the Dragon. This is why defender pets or defender companions cannot be used on this dragon. Only one tank should be present on this dragon at a time as well and it is also helpful to have a healer specifically for the tank as the Dragon also deals armor breaks. The Blue Dragon also has a wing flap strike that leaves a cloud of electricity around it momentarily and is marked out with a large red circle under the dragon. The dragon can also breathe lightning from its mouth in a forward cone. Helpful tip, wait for the tank before engaging this dragon.

  • Black Dragon: Black Dragon is also a more complex dragon in that it uses a lot of “ads” or extra enemies to deal mass damage to multiple targets. When a player dies at the Black Dragon a wraith spawns every couple seconds that player remains in the revive status. So the more player deaths at Black Dragon the more wraiths you have in the fight. To avoid massive amounts of wraiths the team must “release” as soon as they go down to avoid multiple wraith spawns. Also, the team members can choose to leave the immediate area around the dragon to make wraiths despawn if there are too many to continue fighting. Black Dragon can also lay down acid spots that are marked with red circles that it shoots from its mouth.

Importance of killing Dragon Empowerers:

Dragon empowerers like the name states makes the dragons stronger. The empowerers buff the dragons that make them more difficult to kill and allow them to deal more damage. So killing the empowerers quickly can really reduce the number of team deaths and make the run go more smoothly. Every Dragon has dragon empowerers that spawn every time the dragon is depleted by one health bar. When the empowerers spawn in it is good for the team to make killing the empowerers a priority.
